Mystery Rosy Ooze on Secluded Tasmanian Coast Raises Anxiety of Possible Phytoplankton Proliferation
Agencies in Tasmania are striving to determine a magenta ooze that has surfaced on a secluded beach, with some scientists concerned it could be an algae outbreak.
Broad Appearance On Coastline
The magenta-hued slime was found on a portion of Randalls Bay about 60km south of the city. A comparable ooze has also been documented on sections of another local beach and a separate bay.
