Lando Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice
Lando Norris has beaten Oscar Piastri at all of the last five race weekends.
The McLaren driver edged out fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the top spot in the closing stages of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the title advantage from Piastri by just one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, topped the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before the sprint shootout scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the points battle, trailing with a 36-point deficit behind Norris, finished in P17 as his Red Bull team ran a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he spun at Turn Four early in the session.
Tsunoda slid over the track edges before spinning across the escape zone, and was lucky to escape with just a light touch of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also had a spin, at the conclusion of the session, spinning around through the fast downhill corner before the last turn on to the start-finish straight.
The veteran wrapped up in 19th place, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were well clear of the rest of the field, with the German's Sauber P3, 0.619secs slower than Piastri's pace.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Bortoleto fifth from Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
